Commander’s Comments:

     I have appointed Past Commander, Steve Mann, for Camp nomination of new Officers’ and he will give a report at our November meeting.  Officers will be elected in January.  When Past Commander Mann contacts you, please support the Camp by volunteering for an office. 
     We encourage you to make plans to join us on our float in the December 16 Powhatan Christmas Parade.  Dress will be period costume, either military or civilian.

The Cannon Report:

The November meeting will be held early on the 19th of the month due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.  It will be held at The Village Garden Café, 1 p.m. lunch, and 2 p.m. meeting.  Our guest speaker will be William (Bill) Boelt, local Historian and tour guide of Powhatan Courthouse for the Historical Society.      The Village Garden Café, 8433 Old Buckingham Rd. is just east of the Courthouse.  Cost per person is $9.00. 

The December meeting will be our Annual Christmas Party held on Sunday the 10th.  Mrs. Dianne Campbell, widow of Compatriot Malcolm Campbell, will be our gracious Hostess this year.  Camp members and guests are asked to bring a covered side dish.  The Camp will furnish meat and beverages.  Directions: 2118 Chestnut Oaks Road in the Chestnut Oaks Subdivision off Judes Ferry Road, north of Route 60 approximately 1.5-2.0 miles on right.

Please remember the SCV fees are past due. The dues are $35.00.  Please bring your payment to the meeting or mail them to the Powhatan Troop Camp, P.O.
